Gary Megson has called on his Bolton players to show the same desire they produced in the final quarter of the 2-1 defeat at Wolves for 90 minutes in the future.
Megson was unhappy with his side's display in the first 70 minutes at Molineux, but was also far from impressed by the manner of Wolves' opening goal.
Jody Craddock broke the deadlock in only the third minute to put the visitors on the back foot, although the veteran defender appeared to be offside when he latched on to Christophe Berra's flick.
A rueful Megson said: "The linesman made a mistake which put us under pressure right from the off.
"Saying that we should never have let the ball to have been played into that position and, the offside decision apart, we should have dealt with the situation better.
"It took us until the last 20 minutes to find the tempo and from then on we put Wolves under the cosh. We created five or six good chances but we needed to have played like that throughout the entire game.
"It was a disappointing dressing room because we know we could have done better, and we need to start showing that.
"If we can play and show the desire that we displayed in the last quarter of the game for the full 90 minutes, we will get those results.
"We know that it is going to be close right throughout the season regardless of who is in the bottom three. We are not far away but we need to start picking up those points."
